About FAQ's

Who attends Yeshiva Atlanta?

Yeshiva Atlanta is a Modern Orthodox High School for students who are serious about Jewish and General studies. You don't have to be Orthodox to succeed at YA, but you do have to respect traditional Judaism while engaging in challenging college preparatory work and Torah study.

What does it mean to have a Modern Orthodox education?

It means getting the finest blend of Academic and Torah Learning. The interface of

Torah and Science, of General and Jewish culture is what gives us a unique identity. We embrace tradition and the modern world. We strive to produce well-rounded Jews ready to face Jewish life in a multifaceted world.

Where do students go after graduating from Yeshiva Atlanta?

At YA we help our students get where they want to go and excel once they get there: Yeshiva University or a Yeshiva in Israel, training for the US Army at West Point or training for the IDF, Georgia Tech or M.I.T., Ivy League or the best state universities. We have sent our students to all of these institutions and they have excelled because YA gives each student the best of both worlds and prepares all of them to be the best they can be.

What about sports and extra curricular activities?

Sports and extra curricular activities promote health and build character. We are

the only Jewish high school in Atlanta who participates in the Georgia High School Athletic Association. At YA we have many sports teams open to all students as well as many clubs and programs available for all who wish to participate. Our fully equipped weight room is the center for fitness training available to all students.

How does Yeshiva Atlanta prepare its graduates for the future?

YA is a pipeline to the growing Atlanta Jewish community. Many of our alumni from the past 30 years now call Atlanta home and link into established career networks. Many of our coed student population have met future spouses in our school where everyone is Jewish.

What defines academic success at Yeshiva Atlanta?

Academic excellence is all around you at YA. Our students far exceed national SAT average scores. Some of our students excel in AP classes. In the past six years YA had many National Merit finalists, semifinalists and commended students. Many of these same students also attend elective Torah study classes.

What is the religious significance of the State of Israel at Yeshiva Atlanta?

Pride in and respect for Israel is infused in our students. Not only do we study about Israel and speak Hebrew, we also have Religious Zionist role models on our faculty who have combined Torah study with service in the IDF. The majority of our students spend a year in Israel before attending a four-year college. Some have even made Aliyah.

What advanced learning takes place at Yeshiva Atlanta?

Technology makes the world flat with our state of the art teleconference center. YA has ongoing lectures for faculty and students from world-class Professors and Rabbis at Yeshiva University and Roshei Yeshiva. Online opportunities are available in our Media Center.

What food options are available?

Food for thought” is important for learning. We have one of Atlanta's finest

Vaad HaKashrut certified caterers in-house who provides meals daily for

our students to purchase.

What are we really about?

We aren't about bricks and mortar; we're about people and relationships.

Say “yes” to Yeshiva now, and others will say ‘yes’ to you in the future.
